Readway Ponds is a very easily  accessible (hidden)  destination for many kinds of activities. The dirt road is gated, but in many cases it remains open to drive in, at least in part.

It makes for a much nicer 'walk in woods' however.

 

You will pass between two of the larger Readway Ponds and eventually the road ends at the Little River near some attractive waterfalls. The road itself is an easy walk or ski with just enough rolling hills to make it interesting. 

 

 

 

 

Trailhead Location:

 

From the intersection of Oswegatchie Trail Rd and Route 3 in Star Lake follow approx 1/4 mile to Lake Road. Turn left onto Lake Rd near the hospital and continue on for about1.5 miles to a gated dirt forest road on the right.

 

 

Trail uses: Hike, snowshoe, XC Ski, Mountain Bike, Snowmobile
