Although all of the waterfalls along the Grasse River are spectactular in their own way, Rainbow Falls is certainly one of the *highlights*
of them all, and is every photographers dream waterfall!
At roughly a 0.6 mile roundtrip hike, it’s accessible for just about everyone.
Starting off gently through an overgrown field with blackberry bushes lining the edges you will swiftly be in an open hardwood forest. Along a mild descent you will come to a small footbridge over a fork in the river and just beyond to the top of the falls. A trail follows along the river and descends to where you will have a much better view of the falls.
Trailhead Location:
Just west of Cranberry Lake, locate Tooley Pond Road off Route 3.
Turn down Tooley Pond Road and continue for 11 miles to the small trailhead on the left.
Look for an 8 x 11 inch sign on a tree near three large boulders on the left hand side of the road.
Trail uses: Hiking, Snowshoe
