a smaller tributary of the Oswegatchie River .
Little River is a bit more difficult to paddle, than the Oswegatchie River, but for someone with experince in "boney conditions" and low class rapids... it might be an option. The River also provides EXCELLENT Fishing locations for Trout and other varieties of Fish.
Little River can be accessed from a few locations:
"Nys Route 3"
The river passes beneath the highway near the Intersection of NYS HWY 3 and County Rt 60 and this location is one of the

"Oswegatchie Trail Rd"
From NYS HWY 3 at the Blinking Caution Light, at the intersections of NYS HWY 3 and County Rt. 60 (located adjacent to the NYS HWY 3 Little River Fishing access Site) turn on to County Rt 60 Towards the Hamlet Of Oswegatchie. In approx 1/4 mile AT the stop sign you will see a playground to your right (across the Bridge) which is an unmarked access point to Little River.

While not used that frequently, this location is an excellent entrance point to the Little River. The trail slowly descends to the shore of the Little River over the course of the next 0.5 miles. Bring your waders and your fly rod and enjoy the beauty of this pristine location. This trail also makes for a nice short hike destination to a lovely spot for a family picnic.
Directions:
Make a Left turn from NYS HWY 3 to Oswegatchie Trail Rd. Follow Oswegatchie Trail rd towards Star Lake for just under 2-miles to Coffin Mills Road on the Right. Then follow Coffin Mills Road towards the Aldrich State Forest for roughly 1-mile to the access trailhead on the right.
