Dog Pond Loop Trail
This is a nearly 20-mile loop that is typically done as a two day outing could essentially be complete in a day if you were very committed into doing this rugged loop. The start of this is along the "Cranberry 50 Trail" and is very moderate over flatand undulating hillside terrain. With side trips to Hedgehog Pond, and Burntbridge Pond you could extend your outing as much as you desire.
Unforgettable scenery will await you as you pass by several back-country ponds, wetlands and streams. Be sure to take your time and plan for two days to fully enjoy this journey through the "Cranberry Lake Wild Forest".
Trailhead Location:
Locate the Burntbridge Pond Trailhead just east of Cranberry Lake along NYS Route 3 on the right. Follow until the Dog Pond Loop Junction
