      Figure Skating Association

Figure skating is a non-school activity offered to the general population (ages 3 through 18).  We serve around 100 skaters.  This program includes lessons and practice times two nights a week from January until March.  In March we have our annual ice show for all skaters to perform in front of an audience.  The ice show is a 37 year tradition, that the community looks forward to every year.

We increase skating skills as shown by growth in skating ability ass the children progress through the badge levels.  We promote physical fitness.  The final component of the season is participation and team-work in the annual ice show.  The fact that we have so many young skaters we see great progress and strides made from the beginning night of the season to the last night.

      Volunteer/Donations

Volunteers act as amateur coaches, as well as help make props, sew costumes, or in other ways preparing for the ice show. Volunteers donate many long hours late at night flooding with a hose to make the ice.

Donations are used to pay for professional skater instructor costs and ice show expenses.

      Future Goals

Continue our dedication to the youth of our community and surrounding areas and promote figure skating which helps to keep our youth exercising and also builds self-esteem.  It creates a time for parents to meet and socialize while their children skate twice a week.
