The mighty Oswegatchie River is the lifeline of the entire region, and in the Hamlet of Fine it's certainly no exception. The Oswegatchie River is full of an extensive variety of fresh water fish.

 

the section of river that runs through the hamlet of Fine can provide a SUBERB white water kayaking or rafting experience for those properly trained, and daring enough. This section of the river has been classified with up to "Class V" rapids and can be very dangerous.

 

Although there is no "public" canoe access location to access this section in the hamlet  of Fine to date. It can be accessed near the

 

"Flat Rock" Boat Launch

 

a "Top 10 Area Favorite Fishing Access Site"

 

in the Hamlet of Oswegatchie opposite the Brookfield Power Dam.
